PIGMENT TREATMENT

PIGMENT TREATMENT

PIGMENT

Pigment spots are discolorations on the skin that are caused by an overproduction of melanin. There can be several causes such as; the aging process, excessive sun exposure, hormone changes, certain skin conditions and inflammation.

In order to treat pigmentation spots as well as possible, a non-binding intake meeting will first take place during which the skin therapist will determine which type of pigment is involved. In consultation with you, she will draw up a personal treatment plan and indicate which treatment(s) is most suitable.

We treat pigmentation spots by means of medical peels, microneedling, cosmelan, dermamelan, pigment laser and camouflage therapy. Combination treatments are also possible.

PIGMENTLASER

At The Skin Therapy, the Gentle Max Pro can be used to remove pigment spots. The laser absorbs the excess pigment and therefore only releases heat on the lesion, as a result of which too much pigment burns, as it were. After the treatment there will be redness and crusting.

It is possible to laser pigmentation in the face, hands, neck or elsewhere on the body. This usually concerns pigmentation spots as a result of sun damage. This also requires an average of 1 to 3 treatments. However, not every pigmentation spot is treatable. Only pigmentation spots in the top layer of skin (epidermis) can be treated. Treatment with pigment laser is only allowed for skin types 1 to 3.
